The Deal

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Arrive in Colombo and transfer to the palm-fringed beach town of Negombo, where we will explore the seafront, Esplanade and bustling fish market. Then we travel to Hanarana and enjoy exploring the Minneriya National Park, one of the best places in the entire country to view wild elephants. Next, discover what life is like in an authentic Sri Lankan Village when we visit Hiriwadunna, a tiny settlement of less than 2,500 people where they grow all of their own food, raise cattle and barter their daily needs. 

In the culture center of Sigiriya, we explore the Rock Fortress followed by a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dambulla to view the golden temples, statues, grottoes and huge wall paintings. In the capital city of Kandy, we will visit the Temple of the Scared Tooth Relic and the market, then enjoy dinner with a local family in their home. En route to the hill town of Nuwara Eliya, we stop to learn about the growing and harvesting of tea at a Tea Estate and factory. After our stay in Nuwara Eliya, we travel to magnificent Yala National Park where we will take a Jeep Safari tour to experience the best of the country’s natural wildlife and landscape.

After spending some time at the fabled Weligama Bay, we travel to the pretty colonial town of Galle and visit a nearby temple to learn the art of silent meditation from Buddhist Monks. Then, we embark on a scenic cruise along the Madu River viewing the locals and wildlife, before ending at the Turtle Hatchery to learn about the rescue and protection of turtle eggs. Finally, we travel to the capital city of Colombo to explore the city and visit the cricket club.
