The Deal

Begin your tour in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital and one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Next, drive to the Armavir region in west Armenia to visit Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the oldest state-built church in the world. Continue to the magnificent Zvartnots Temple, a 7th century architectural masterpiece. On your return to Yerevan, stop for a traditional lunch and tour of the family-owned Megerian Carpet factory. Board the “Wings of Tatev,” the longest cable car in the world that whisks you to the spectacular Tatev Monastery. Driving along the Selim pass, visit Caravanserai, an important stop on the Silk Road, and medieval Noradus cemetery with its over 800 khachkars (stone crosses).

Next, visit the forested resort town of Dilijan and enjoy a walking tour along historic Sharambeyan Street. Then, travel to the medieval Haghpat Monastery complex before arriving in Tbilisi, known for its diverse architecture and maze-like, cobblestone streets.  Enjoy a fascinating visit to the abandoned rock hewn town of Uplistsikhe before proceeding to Gori, one of the oldest cities in Georgia, birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Travel to the 6th century Alaverdi Monastery before continuing to charming Sighnaghi, a small mountaintop town in the historical region of Kakheti.

On your last day in Georgia, drive to Mtskheta, former capital of Georgia to visit the Jvari Monastery. Finally, you return to Tbilisi for an afternoon on your own. Perhaps opt to luxuriate at the town’s famous Sulphur Baths including a pampering massage, brewed tea and fresh fruits.
